Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Contract Advantage LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use LedgerTen (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Email address, password (stored as a cryptographic hash by our authentication provider), and the names and details of the business entities you create.
• Financial records you enter. Transactions, invoices, bills, vendors, customers, contractor payment records, documents you upload (such as bank statements), and other bookkeeping data.
• Bank connection data. If you connect a financial account, we receive read-only transaction and balance data through Plaid Inc. We never see or store your banking credentials; those go directly to Plaid. Plaid's handling of your data is described in its own privacy policy at plaid.com/legal.
• Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full card number; we retain only the billing records Stripe provides (such as plan, status, and last four digits).
• Usage and device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken, used for security and to operate the Service.

2. How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and secure the Service.
• Process transactions you request, such as syncing bank feeds, generating reports, and AI-assisted categorization.
• Bill subscriptions and manage plans.
• Respond to support requests and send service notices (renewals, security alerts, material changes).
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or your financial data, and we do not use your bookkeeping data for advertising.

3. AI features

When you use AI categorization or statement extraction, the relevant transaction descriptions or document contents are sent to our AI model providers (currently Anthropic models accessed through OpenRouter) to generate suggestions. These requests are made under agreements that prohibit the provider from using the data to train their models. AI suggestions are drafts for your review, not decisions.

4. Service providers

We share information only with the vendors needed to run the Service, under contracts limiting their use of it:

• Supabase (database hosting and authentication)
• Vercel (application hosting)
• Stripe (payments)
• Plaid (bank connections)
• OpenRouter / Anthropic (AI features, as described above)

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you).

5. Data retention and deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. You can export your books at any time. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your Customer Data within a reasonable period, except for records we must keep for legal, billing, or security purposes. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our hosting providers. Access to production data is restricted, and each account's data is isolated with row-level security. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

7. Your choices and rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data from within the Service, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, deletion, or portability requests) under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act. We honor such requests from any user regardless of residence. To exercise them, email us at the address below.

8. Children

The Service is for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email before they take effect.
